Eeby deeby, I am blogging again! I was feeling very excited to talk about things and then I forgot what I wanted to talk about, as one does.

I downloaded the first chapter of Higurashi when it was free on Mangagamer for their Halloween sale, which I am quite excited about. At this point, I am building up quite the backlog of games: I have a few I have not touched, several games I want to go in and complete more content for, and a number I need to replay for fic-writing purposes. This is stressful! Ideally, I would like to clear out as much of my backlog as possible before Hundred Line Academy releases. I like Kodaka's writing so much and I have no doubt that is a game that will fully consume me.

However, I now remember why I am making this post! I have been playing Euphoria (the game by Clockup) with a friend recently and it is very very good. I cannot comment much on the sex scenes, as we have been speeding through them, but the story, premise, and characters have all been very enjoyable so far. We have been through Natsuki, Rika, and Rinne's routes so far. While I've enjoyed everything, Rinne is currently my favorite route and character. I really like the characterization parallels between her and Keisuke, the ways that they play off of each other, and the incredible twists and jaw-dropping moments that occur on her route. Most of the spoilers I knew from this game appear to involve her route, and yet they were incredibly intense to see executed. I am excited for Nemu and Kanae's routes, especially given they are supposedly the most plot-heavy.

I cannot believe my last post here was before I got into Nitro+ Chiral games. This is truly wild to me, especially because I can no longer picture a time before N+C games. This stupid publisher has a grip on my soul, on a level few other media things have had before. It is not just the deep warmth and joy of fannish interest; this is not just infatuation, but love. There is a difference between those, not just with people, but with how I feel about my silly media joys too.

It may be too early to say, but I really believe it. Friendship is Magic was love; Dangan Ronpa was love; N+C is love. I haven't felt like this about something fully new to me in almost a decade, and that itself is worthy of celebration. I have missed joy.

2024 has been undeniably hard for me, but I have my friends. And I have my silly little interests: 5 video games that are unlocking my soul and the Littlest Pet Shop toyline revival. For now, these are enough to keep going.
